This blog is mostly a thought/writing exercise for me. I would like to do some sort of writing thing for a career someday, and I’m told good writers practice often. Unfortunately, whenever I try to write something constructive or creative, I’ll get distracted. One thing I never get tired of, though, is spewing my opinions about books at people. Thus, this blog was born.
I am doing this to become a better writer, so I welcome any and all constructive criticism. (Note: “lol ur blog sux and ur gay” does not count as constructive. Any comments of this nature will be deleted and/or snarked at). I know it’s hard to do this over the internet, but please try to be polite. I will be polite to polite people and rude to rude people.
Fair warning: I consider myself an intersectional feminist and will be commenting on issues of race, gender, sexuality, and other marginalized identities. If you do not think these issues are valid and wish to engage in a debate with someone, go on Tumblr. I will not debate this with you because it will be stressful and ultimately fruitless. I reserve the right to delete any comments I do not wish to respond to. That being said, if you disagree with my criticism of a certain book, I will gladly listen to what you have to say. Comments promoting racism, sexism, homophobia, or any other sort of bigotry will not be tolerated.
Thank you for reading! My first review (of Michael Grant’s novel Gone) will be posted soon!
