Library Haul

I finally went to the library!

And look at all the lovely new books I got!  They are Fear by Michael Grant, The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making and The Girl Who Fell Beneath Fairyland and Led the Revels There by Cathrynne M. Valente, Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov, American Gods by Neil Gaiman, The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman, and The Thieves of Ostia by Caroline Lawrence.

Now we’re going to play “Let’s see how many of these I can read and review by next Tuesday!

Wish me luck!

I’m currently in the process of rereading the Harry Potter series.  I would like to review them, but I don’t feel like I could rate them in the way I normally do.  So I’ll be reviewing each book in the context of the series, having already read the books.  The first one should be up soon!

Wednesday Recommendations!

Hey, I’ve started doing these again!

Here, have a clever and succinct review of Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2!

Also, Halfway Decent Fanfiction has updated!  If any of you are reading my Gone Series fanfiction, Part 2 is up!

I’m reading The Mark of Athena right now, so I might try to write a review this weekend!

Hello, any readers I still have! Sorry for the looong hiatus!  There’s a brief lull in the homework right now, so I’ve managed to post my review of The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven, as you may have seen (if you haven’t, just scroll down!).  Here is some information about what I’ll be doing on here for the next couple of weeks.

1. I started a new blog!  This one is for fan fiction.  My first post will be fan fiction of the Gone series (everyone reading this blog should at least know what that is by now).  You can access it here)

2. I finished reading Plague!  Depending on how busy I am, I’m going to try to write the review this weekend.

3. My posts over the next couple of weeks will be rather sporadic.  Finals for me start on Wednesday and end next Tuesday.  I’ll be very busy studying, but I will try to make time to write my Plague and Beka Cooper reviews.

Wednesday Recommendations: It Feels Like A Party Every Day

Happy Wednesday, all!  And it’s also the first day of May, so happy that, too!

I have a…complicated relationship with the Disney Channel, and their new show, Jessie, is a hot mess of problems for the discerning feminist.  One of these days maybe I’ll write a post about Disney Channel’s problems, but that day is not today.  Instead, here is a post by Kayfil detailing a few of the many, many problems with Jessie:

(My Lies review will hopefully be up tomorrow, but don’t hold me to that.  Also, can someone please explain to me why I got a bunch of likes and followers on Monday, but only about three views?)

Previews of Coming Attractions

Hello followers and visitors! (That is, if anyone besides my mom is still reading my blog.)

Here are the books I will be reviewing next:

First, my review of Michael Grant’s Hunger will hopefully be up tomorrow!

Then I’ll be reviewing the next book, Lies.

After that, I’ll be taking a little break from the Gone books to review Tamora Pierce’s Beka Cooper: Terrier and Sherman Alexie’s The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven.

Then I’ll jump back into the Gone books with Plague!

Stay tuned!
